I’ve always loved retro-gaming. Well, to be more precise it wasn’t “retro” at all when I was first playing these games. It was all about inserting a coin, and enjoying the spur of the moment, the excitement that came from tilting joysticks and hitting buttons. When I play those games nowadays, I get this rush of emotions, obviously linked to the ones the younger me was feeling back then. However, I always felt that in my recent experience playing these old games I was missing the true thrill, the kind that only an Arcade Cabinet can give you. You know: the button clicks, the joysticks, the friends around you while you play.
Therefore, together with a friend we built our first cabinet. It took us 3 weekends, but in the end it was such a great experience to play one of those old games. This is what it was like, building it up:
